33.18€

The terroir of Flor de Caña is influenced by the fertile volcanic soil around the San Cristóbal Volcano in Nicaragua. This unique environment imparts different characteristics to the sugar cane, contributing to the rum's flavor profile. The volcanic minerals in the soil, combined with the slow ripening process, play a crucial role in creating the soft and nuanced flavor that distinguishes Flor de Caña.

TASTING NOTES: Dense body. Red amber color. Aroma of red fruits, honey and toasted nuts. On the palate, there are woody notes, vanilla and baked apples with a well-balanced finish.

DISTILLERY: Flor de Caña has a rich history dating back to 1890 when the company was founded in Chichigalpa, Nicaragua. Originally a sugar factory, it switched to rum production in 1937. Over the years, Flor de Caña has become a world-renowned and award-winning rum, renowned for its quality.

DISTILLATION: Flor de Caña traditionally uses copper vessels for the distillation process. These stills play a crucial role in refining the fermented liquid, concentrating the alcohol and separating the impurities. During the distillation, the master distillers carefully select the best quality part of the still. This step ensures that only the highest quality alcohol is retained for further aging. Flor de Caña 12 undergoes a minimum of 12 years of aging in oak barrels. These casks contribute significantly to the rum's flavor profile, imparting a deep and complex character with notes of oak, nuts, vanilla and caramel.
