TASTING NOTES

The nose here is subtle, but beautifully perfumed with red berry fruits and spice, and floral notes. The palate is lovely and energetic with a delightful balance. An elegant and delicious example of pinot noir that is really quite tasty.

CELLAR

The Vacheron family is one of the largest producers in the Sancerre appelation, and one of the few that can boast a greater propensity to produce red wines than white wines. As a strong supporter of ecodynamics and advanced biodynamic approaches, Vacheron produces refined and mineral wines from Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, which reflect the characteristics of maximum one terroir, and are able to express brightness and aristocratic profile. And the red wines from Pinot Noir can even be compared to those from the Cote d'Or.

VINEYARDS

Appelation Sancerre is located on porous limestone and hard siliceous soil near the longest river in the country, the Loire, right in the center of France. And Domaine Vacheron is just a ten-minute walk from the city center.

VINIFICATION

Maturing: 12 months in French oak barrels then 12 months in 25hl oak casks

FOOD PAIRING

A great combination with veal, game and poultry.
