TASTING NOTES 

Ligh ruby‐red. Aromas of sweet red cherry and sourcherry. The palate shows bright,  fresh fruit character with sweet spices. Mellow tannins and  velvety texture lead to an enjoyable finish.

CELLAR

The dream of producing their own wines started in January 2000. The company had started as a fine wine importer back in 1993. Over the years our they had become one of the leading fine wine importers and distributors in the country. Pasaeli built a boutique winery in Kemalpaşa near the port city of Izmir in the western part of Turkey. Total production is currently around 150.000 bottles a year. They make wines as little as 500 bottles to a maximum of 15.000 bottles per sku.    

VINEYARDS

Тhe winery has four vineyards of 15 hectares, one near the city of İzmir (close to the village of Kaynaklar), two more near the city of Tekirdağ (one close to the town of Şarköy and the other close to the village of Hoşköy) and one more near the city of Çanakkale (close to the village of Gedik). Kaynaklar and Hoşköy vineyards were planted by them but Şarköy vineyard has 50 years “old vines” of Yapıncak variety and Gedik vineyard has 35 years “old vines” of Karasakız variety. They hand harvest their grapes. Since day Pasaeli have been strong believers in the indigenous varieties of Turkey. That’s why their vineyards are spread out to the “homeland” of each of these varieties. All their wines are made with fruit from single vineyards, so they make “terroir” wines. 

VINIFICATION

The grapes were handpicked, destemmed and crushed. Each variety was fermented separately with pump-overs. 

Aging: Aged for 3 months in 2nd and 3d use French and American oak barrels followed by 3 months of bottle aging before release
