PRODUCER
Mas de Daumas Gassac has built a reputation
thanks to the first in time Languedoc-sales model: "En Primeur".
Introduced to the mansion in 1978, this model covers all sales of the cellar
nowadays. Half of the wines are sold to private customers and the other half to
wine dealers, restaurants and are exported to over 80 countries. This direct
connection with loyal customers in their thirty eight years is part of that
cellar itself. Today, the winery is well known for its high quality wines, and
its most popular is Cabernet Sauvignon that bears the title "Languedoc of
Languedoc" (Languedoc's Flag).
VINEYARDS
The first vineyards of Mas de Daumas Gassac
were planted in 1972. The owners discovered the area two years earlier, looking
for a new home in the province. In 1971, their friend, Professor Henry
Enhalbert, a geologist and viticulture specialist, advised them to produce
quality Grand Cru wine at this location. Aime Huber is still considered to be
the only one on Languedoc's behalf as a global wine figure.
