THE WINERY
Domaine Marquis d’Angerville represents the epitome of Burgundian winemaking, with a long-standing history, exceptional vineyards, and a commitment to producing organic and biodynamic wines of exceptional quality and finesse. The domaine gained fame in the 1920s when it began to make and bottle its own wine, at a time when the common practice was for élevage and bottling to take place in the hands of négociants. Marquis d'Angerville circumvented the négociants entirely by commercializing its own wine, becoming one of the leading producers to do so.
VINEYARDS
The estate owns vineyards in some of the most prestigious appellations of Burgundy, including Volnay Premier Cru Clos des Ducs, Volnay Premier Cru Taillepieds, and Volnay Premier Cru Champagne. Clos des Ducs is considered one of the finest Premier Cru vineyards in Burgundy.
VINIFICATION
The grapes are de-stemmed and macerated on the skins for 8 to 10 days with regular pumping-over (but no punch downs).
Ageing: Aged in approximately 25% new oak.
