Domaine Joblot Premier Cru Clos Marole
TASTING NOTES
The hue of the Clos Marole is ruby red while the nose has notes of Morello cherries and a light sous-bois. On the palate, fine tannins and a fruity nature give this wine a certain charm.
THE WINERY
Domaine Joblot is a family-owned winery that has been passed down through generations. The domaine originated in the early 20th Century through the work of founder Charles Joblot. He handed the management of the domaine to his son Marc Joblot following World War II and by the 1970s, Domaine Joblot had passed to brothers Jean-Marc and Vincent Joblot.
VINEYARDS
The domaine owns around 14 hectares (34.6 acres) of vineyards, planted with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. These vineyards are spread across different premier cru and village-level sites in Givry.
Domaine Joblot is known for its commitment to traditional winemaking methods. They prioritize manual work in the vineyards, low yields, and meticulous grape selection to produce wines that showcase the unique terroir of the region.
The domaine practices organic and biodynamic viticulture, which involves avoiding the use of synthetic chemicals and focusing on sustainable farming methods. This approach supports environmental conservation and produces wines that are more in harmony with nature.
