Calvados Christan Drouin Caroni Angels
TASTING NOTES
Aromas of roasted apple, dried apricot, leather, brown sugar and petroleum fill the nose, followed by notes of ripe apples, slightly crunchy pears, toasted oak, baked apples and hints of smoke throughout the palate.
THE DISTILLERY
The history of Christian Drouin dates back to 1960, when Christian Drouin the
Elder bought the farm in Pays d’Age to produce calvados of the highest quality.
The ambitious project proved successful, in part because Pierre Pivet, then the
most famous cider distiller of the eau-de-vie de cidre brand, joined the team.
Since 1969, Christian Drone Junior has joined the family business. To this day,
the company is considered family, although part of it was sold to shareholders.
at the head is the agricultural engineer and oenologist Guillaume, third
generation Drouin.
DISTILLATION
A fruity, aromatic Calvados from Christian Drouin that was initially matured in French oak, before being finished for eight months in ex-rum casks from closed distillery Caroni in Trinidad & Tobago.
